This is a shot I took on my way out to East Sooke. It’s looking out at Sooke Harbour from Roche Cove.

The Roche

This is from earlier in the day of the the shots from the previous post. Mr. James Murdoch (Bak) in the store, quick snap.

I was really bored (read: extremely bored) today at work. Just outside the doors after we closed, I snapped this shot of Nick Cheply (of The Jitta) taking a sip of his beverage. When I got home, I decided that it needed more punch. This is the before and after of said ‘punch’.

And then after a tighter crop, some lens blur of the background, some touch ups and a contrast increase you get the following:
'punched'

Well, it serves me right. I took all week deciding what to do for the black and white contest that I missed it by one day. I was torn, not that it matters now, between two images:
Royal Roads

and

HDR of Fisguard Lighthouse

The second being an HDR image converted to black and white. The first being my favorite shot of the day, except in colour.

Royal Roads

Followed closely by another HDR image that is composed of an old turret at Fort Rodd Hill in Colwood, B.C.
