Monthly Archives: April 2008

I took these pictures a few days ago up at Bear Mountain after work one day. I literally drove to the top and then came back down pulling off on side roads that had a good view. Which, in the case of this particular mountain, is all of them. I got home, threw them on the computer, and then noticed that none of them had the contrast that I had seen not 20 minutes before. Thank goodness for photoshop. These are the final versions of my favourite.

a tighter crop perhaps

I’ve got a few pictures that I’ll be posting soon, just a few more tweaks and they’ll be ready to post. Until then I’m just going to be posting my pictures from the Nikon D80 challenge group on Flickr. This is from the available light thread, I was tempted to put it in the Long exposure thread, but I have a better idea for that one.

On a side note, this summer fall I will be attending the Western Academy of Photography. I’m going to be going for a diploma in Professional Photography.

Lucky Bamboo HDR

Lucky Bamboo in my kitchen. Another shot for the Nikon D80 Challenge.

Edit: The more that I look at this shot, the more that I realize how out of focus that leaf is. It just goes to show that when you take a picture, you have to worry about the whole picture. I was worrying so much about the background of the shot that I completely missed the Depth of Field on the subject. It would also help if I had a proper macro lens. April 3, 2008
