river
Sooke River, British Columbia, Canada

Out at the river with some friends, I decided to snap this off while standing on the big rock. It turned into one of the best shots on the roll and one of my favorite Holga shots so far. I’ll have a roll of colour film to play with soon, as it is off being developed at the moment.

long expose card game
Cowichan River, BC Provincial Park, approx. 11:30pm, 379 second exposure.

Took this picture in the last couple days while playing a game of Crazy 8’s at a campsite on the Cowichan River. This was after we spent the overcast, windy day drifting down the river on inner tubes. This is with my newest lens, the Nikkor 20mm f/2.8. I’m really liking the out-of-focus quality, or ‘bokeh’, that this lens is offering me.

I was hoping to get some more shots in over the past few days with it, but due to the large amount of long exposures I was doing, couldn’t with my current battery capacity. I’ll be ordering a battery grip in the next few days to accompany my camera.

A few more pictures of the trip are on my flickr photostream. Click on any of the pictures to view it.

three lens

So far, these are my three prime lenses. I will be purchasing a 105mm macro lens in the near future to round off my collection. I’m also holding out for the new Nikon lens 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII w/ Nanocoating! Below are a few pictures from my 85mm a couple of days ago. I will be getting some pictures from the 20mm soon. I need time to play with it first.

Pensive

Well, B.C. Day has come and passed, and it was an eventful one. I went up to my friends house and we worked on a skimboard that has been in the making for nearly 2 years now. He was nearly done painting when I took this shot. I had been taking pictures all day. I entitled it, on the spot, “real artists don’t use palettes!”

real artist

This shot was taken after the concert, performed by Feist in the Inner Harbour of Victoria, B.C.
