Hey there,

I just thought that you should know, I’ve moved.

Check me out at Kerr Photography

Cheers,

Matthew

Hello,

I’m just working on a new logo and letterhead for fun here. If you could maybe let me know what you think that would be awesome. I’m also looking at a few different name ideas, however I am stumped because a quick Google search will show that all of the names that I’ve chosen have been taken.

It’s been a while, but I thought I’d throw these up. They are with my version of a poor man’s macro. Google it. I used a nikon 50mm 1.8 and 85mm 1.8 to achieve this effect.

School is going well.  For instance, I worked on this picture while we learned how to use layer masks.  That is, that I finished the assignment as it was being handed out.

In other news, I’m going to be putting up a portrait portfolio on my other website. Just a few more pictures are to be fiddled with and then they will go up. Here’s a sneak preview

Local Band Apparatus Theory asked me to take some pictures for promotion work. This is one of the shots that we all liked. Apparatus Theory can be heard on MySpace. If you’re interested in getting some pictures of your band, send me a shout or check out the other site!
I know there is some errors, I’m in the process of fixing them. Also, Nikon Rumors got a facelift too. Check them out here.

I was rummaging through my bag and I found one of my old thumb drives (read:flash drive, memory stick, etc.) and I found a bunch of unedited shots from my Holga that I had scanned. A bunch of them were horrible, underexposed, scratched, dusty shots. A few of them were salvageable.
This shot for instance, is out of focus. I can easily blame that on the fact that it’s a Holga, or I can just fess up and admit that I totally forgot about that part of the picture making process.

School is in session and I’ve now completed the first “3 weeks”. The first week, more of a half week, was orientation time. Now that I’ve completed the second week of actual class time, I’ve got a few assignments done.
This image, from our lightroom assignment, was taken of the Emily Carr House in Victoria, B.C. It was a 100 second exposure at f/10. My friend and I popped flashes all over the front of the house to make it glow a little bit more.

On another note, I got my newest and hopefully last lens for a while. The Nikon ED AF-S VR-Nikkor 70-200mm 1:2.8G. This lens measures a full 29cm from the edge of the camera. More images from/of that soon.

three lens

So far, these are my three prime lenses. I will be purchasing a 105mm macro lens in the near future to round off my collection. I’m also holding out for the new Nikon lens 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII w/ Nanocoating! Below are a few pictures from my 85mm a couple of days ago. I will be getting some pictures from the 20mm soon. I need time to play with it first.
